January 2010 Members Newsletter
Dear Members of Jazz Café,
Hello and Happy New Year 2010! Lovely wishes and prayers for prosperity, peace and a love for great music to you. I know this letter is running later than usual but I have been busy with projects and the aftermath of Christmas. I do apologize to those who wrote me asking if I had forgotten to include them this month in my e-mail-out.
I trust you had a wonderful time over the holidays! Myself, and the band included, were gigging all over the Okanagan during the holidays but we each had time to spend with our family and friends. I personally loved having mine travel to the Okanagan to visit. A chance to show old and new friends the beautiful place that I have chosen to call home and revisit places with fresh eyes and fall in love with the natural beauty of it over and over again. We are so lucky to have a backdrop like we do. A real blessing.
We at Jazz Café are starting to get organized for the 17th of Jan. This month’s special guest is singer/songwriter Flora Ware from Nelson BC. You will enjoy her smooth vocal style well beyond the roots of Jazz. Her latest album is aptly named “Insight” When I first heard it I instantly thought Zero 7 (who are one of my fav British chill bands). I am truly pleased to have her perform this month at Jazz Café.
Bursary Notes: Well with only two Jazz Cafes behind us, the Bursary total is already at $200.00. Thank you, Thank you Thank you. This months raffle prizes include Dinner Certificates for Milestones, Orchard Park, and Suzanne’s Fashions + CD’s and of course a ticket to next months Jazz Café. $2 a ticket and 3 for $5

I truly hope that I can continue bringing great songs and talent to you and your like minded guests. It’s my honor to please you and I hope that’s what we do at Jazz Café. (Yes it gets a bit squishy but rather that than the sound of tumbleweeds blowing through the room………………..hee hee.)
