Hello Members.
It’s was very hard to get on with life when the World Olympic Games were being held in our back yard! We’ve had a great Olympics and some fantastic World Wide press. If only Jazz Café was up there jamming up a snow storm! Congratulations Canada for our record 14 medals and for putting on a great closing ceremony! I could go on and on but let’s leave that for face-book comments and coffee house chats.
I am in shock that this is the last show of the 6 month series of Jazz Café. I thank you so much supporting my vision to bring Quality Jazz to Kelowna, which started March 28th 2009. We will continue Jazz Café and all of you who have a membership card are instantly FOUNDER MEMBERS which remain VIP status forever. April 14th is the date when I will be hosting Jazz Café. Stu Goldberg and Jakub Keiser on Violin are booked as our special guests. They will be performing some classical pieces, which I know you will be excited to be apart of our audience for…more to come about that in my next letter.
This month promises to be a fabulous evening with more great music and an original show. We are going back to 3 sets so that there are two breaks in between. More chance to wet the whistle, It works out best that way. It’s also St Patrick’s Day so we’ll be having some festive cocktails like “The Bailey’s Fiddle” (Irish whiskey, Bailey's Irish cream) or the Irish Martini (Irish whiskey, Vodka, Vermouth) and of Course, our favorite, Irish coffee. All at $8, Jazz Café Style. And yes, we have ingredients to make other styles of Martini’s so please ask Vanessa at the bar and she’ll make you a great tipple!

Jazz Café at the Black Box
NEW DATE is Wed April 14th
I have had to make the decision of cancelling March 17th Jazz Café due to the show that is in the Black Box right now. The sets and the stands do not allow Jazz Café to have its intimate tables and the staging does not allow for the grand piano. At first this was not a problem because we were going to have a great Jazz Guitarist in but just last week I was informed that this Guitarist had to go back on the road and would have been too expensive to have him stay. The timings were off by a few weeks. You know me by now, I want to make sure that the Jazz Café brand means quality music, service and environment and all those elements we strive for.
We will Use the April 14th Jazz Café with Stu Goldberg and Jakub Kaiser as our last Jazz Café of the season. I am so excited about this concert. If there are any of you (member’s card holder) who find this an inconvenience please let me know and we will have a complimentary credit for future Jazz Cafes for you.
I hope that this is ok and I do apologize for the inconvenience of having to cancel March. I have never had to cancel a show and I’m sorry.
And now for something fun: I have been asked to be a judge on Swinging with the Stars on March 26th at the Coast Capri Hotel. I can’t wait! The tickets are sold out but if you have yours already come over and give me a hug! The charity is for Hospice House – a great cause.
I also want to remind you that if you are having a Private, Corporate or Special Event, it will be enhanced by LIVE music and we’d love to be there with you.
