I am stunned to believe that Season Six of Jazz Café has finished and “Season 7” will start in October. For those of you eager to become members or to renew; please note that I will open up the membership in July with confirmed monthly dates and a little sneak peak of who and what will be happening throughout the season. “Jazz Café is a platform for professional musicians to express their highest form of talent to a deserving audience of like-minded aficionados who enjoy quality and know they will hear and receive it at Jazz Café”… Kelowna’s own speakeasy. But there IS one more show…
I do have a very special Jazz Café Presents….on May 18th at the Black Box.
Alto saxophonist Dylan Cramer and his quartet will be bringing to the stage technical brilliance along with creative interpretations that are intense yet sensitive. Tickets are $25.00 Members $15.00, Lapsed members $20.00.

Dylan Cramer left his Canadian home town of North Vancouver at the tender age of 18 to pursue his passion and study the saxophone under his musical hero Sonny Criss in Los Angeles, California. When Sonny moved ‘on to the jazz jam in the sky’, Cramer continued his tutorials in LA with noted musician, Phil Sobel. Dylan Cramer made two albums in Germany and his newest triumph recorded here in Canada! Dylan will be joined by pianist Ron Johnston. An Oscar Peterson student who has a discography of recordings to include: Guido Basso, Moe Koffman, Fraser MacPherson, Dee Daniels, George Robert, Clark Terry, June Katz, Joanie Taylor, and Paul Horn. Ron is also the original founding member of the west coast sextet, “Pacific Salt”. This will be a great night of Jazz, Don’t be missing out!
I (Anna J) will be MC’ing DANCE ARTISTICO for Mission Dance on May 11th at the Mary Irwin Theatre in the RCA building on Cawston. The Company will be performing two shows; at 4:30 and then at 7:30. The show is packed full of ideas and will keep you captivated throughout. During the costume changes Bernie Addington, Craig Thomson and I (Anna Jacyszyn) will perform a few songs to keep the energy level of the night at its peak. Can I have the ALL Ladies attention please! – On May25th at the Laurel Packing House all the great ladies of Kelowna are coming together to raise awareness for Conserving Canada’s Wetlands under the umbrella of DUCKS UNLIMITED. “All That Jazz” is a ladies only affair and a chance to schmooze and sip cocktails, eat lovely food and meet some really lovely ladies who live in the Okanagan. You are one of those ladies because I’m sending this message to you! Bernie, Neville and I will be adding to the ambience by singing and performing some great tunes…
